Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I love plex and have been using it quite some time. I was very happy when the ps4 app was released but I have been having issues.
When I Play any 720p video the plex app will be buffering quite a lot, like every 20 seconds.
1080p movies won't play all.
I also have a samsung smart bluray player with the plex app installed. This player playstation 1080p movies without any issues.
I also used plex via dlna on the ps4 and then it also plays 1080p video without any issues.
The next thing I have tried was to adjust some server settings. I have disabled the secure server ssl. and put transcoding on make the cpu suffer.But nothing.
I adjusted the player setting, disabling direct play and direct streaming. It did not work.
Next thing was downgrading to 1.5 mbps and 480p video. This works.
But this is not really acceptable for me.
What I use
- Plex on a readynas ultra 6
- CAT6 cables
- simple router
- samsung bd8500
- Ps4
Any clues on what I can do?
Or does it simply mean that my bluray player supports more codecs and does need less transcoding power than my ps4? (I know that the readynas ultra 6 is not powerful enough to transcode 1080p)
But then why does it work via dnla?
