Hello,

Running
KODI 16.1-RC2
PKC 1.1.3
PMS 0.9.16.4

I have PKC setup to sync my music library.
I noticed that KODI keeps trying to sync, but gets an HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized from PMS.
However, PKC comes in some kind of a loop that never ends.

On my other client: PKC without music sync -> no probs
I don't know if it is related to the music section, but here is the KODI log of my client with problems

@croneter : is it OK to post questions/bugs here? Or do you want everything in
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/210023/plexkodiconnect-let-kodi-talk-to-your-plex

kind regards,
Bart

PlexKodiConnect: DateAdded in music library is NOT correct

Hello @croneterer

I just saw your response on
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/210023/plexkodiconnect-let-kodi-talk-to-your-plex/p46
If you don't mind, I start a new conversation here (It is hard to find some information in the general post)

So the original post:

Running
PMS 0.9.16.4
PKC 1.1.3
Music: after initial sync of music library, DateAdded is NOT correct:

albums seems to be added in revers alphabetic order wich is -if the crawler syncs alphabetically- indeed the same as DateAdded.
Installed fresh Kodi & plugins
I suppose this is a bug?
Kind regards,
B

and your answer:
Unfortunately, I can't fix this. Kodi has an annoying way of repeatetly updating its Music database and overwriting the values I set.

My new question here:
I remember this issue from XBMC were I posted the same issue.
They changed code so that at initial scan, the file/folder date is taken into account.
So when you do a first scan, the oldest are added first, the newest files last. In this way you could order by DateAdded (in the beginning, XBMC didn't had this field in their database schema)

This was okay for me. When building a new database, at least the order added was respected.

Maybe you can do also something like this?

I don't know the exact technical details, but maybe you can configure PKC to sync in the same order (oldest files first)
In that way, the KODI database will at least be in the same order

Thanx for looking at this again

Webos Client?

I've got my Plex running on my mac, would really like a webos client!
Hi,

Is the android client source available ? I've got the webos development sdk and pdk installed here along with the Eclipse sdk plugin.
Have any of you started working on a webos app? After I killed the performance logging and reporting(from the factory the tablet was reporting via
wifi performance stats) the tablet performance improved big time. It's actually pretty cool. Webos runs on top of Linux, similar to android.
All I have to do is find similar calls to what you are using for the android app.
I'm going to start writing some new apps but I will be using phonegap. This way my app will run on Webos, android, and ios.

Anyway.. let me know if there is something I can use on the HP Touchpad running webos 3.2

I've got a complete development environment for it too! including emulator.

Thanks.

I installed plex server in my NAS (Synology) and using PLEXBMC with kodi in my HTPC.

When I download the subtitle it read it but once you go out from the movie and play it again you can it see the subtitle only the embedded.
It’s like downloading the sub but not in the Nas server.
Even if browse the sub.
When I was using my kodi as server it can read, browse the sub.

Can anyone assist? at one point I had this working some time ago, but I can't determine when it failed and what caused it.
I have several client devices (between Android, FireStick and Windows 8.1) they all inhibit the same Script Failed error with PlexBMC Helper when trying to cast to them.
Some other side notes, in PlexBMC Helpers Config, I do have a different name then the Device name set.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

PlexKodiConnect: Kodi keeps scanning non-plex media & needing general guidance

Let me start by saying that I saw the other person with a similar problem, but their issue was with the music library and that is not something I have enabled.

My setup is probably not the norm, but I have set up my htpc to run openelec. I use an addon called Plex Media Server by escalade and hugepants on my htpc which is my plex server. I did this because I like using plex and its web interface to manage metadata for specific movies and tv shows, but I let kodi handle all of my other movies and tv shows. Both the plex managed and kodi managed files are on the same hard drive. I was using plexbmc and the amber skin to watch those specific files via kodi, but I like the idea of using any skin I want and having the plex media visible without a special option.

Today I installed PlexKodiConnect and selected Addon paths. I'm not sure if this was the correct choice given that kodi and plex are on the same machine and not communicating over the network, this might be the source of my issues. The Plex media intergrated into the kodi library perfectly, however, the movies and tv shows that were already in the kodi library rescan every 30 seconds or so and I am unsure why.

I also wanted to ask if there was an easier way to set up everything. Seeing how everything is on the same pc, It seems like there should a different way to configure PlexKodiConnect to access those files directly, instead of going through the server and sending it back to kodi. I'm an amateur at this stuff, so I really appreciate any help anyone could send my way!

PS3 Plex App Always Buffering

I subscribed for Plex Pass so I can get a nice interface to use on the Playstation instead of going through the DLNA. After subscribing I downloaded and linked the PS3 App. Now almost everything I watch through the App buffers every few mins, it usually buffers for several seconds to minutes.

I have since gone back to using the DLNA menu as I never had any issues with buffering through that interface. I only subscribed for Plex Pass so i could use the PS3 app but as of right now its completely unusable for watching any videos.

Please advise.

Need help with Plexbmc on Kodi (Raspberry Pi 2)

$

I have an RPi2 that I've been using for well over 6 months. I just started using Plex/Plexbmc and I love it. I just purchased the Plex Pass and I like the profile feature in Plex Server. It seems to work on my mobile devices and my Amazon Fire TV, where it forces me to pick a profile and enter in a PIN to get in. However, it doesn't seem to work on my RPi2 with Kodi (on OSMC). I added profiles into OSMC, but I don't think Plexbmc is interfacing with those. Perhaps I'm not understanding how the Plex Pass stuff works. I just want to be able limit what my kids can see on Kodi on their devices and on my AFTV, but especially on the RPi2 that is attached to our TV. I can't get it to force a profile choice and password. Please help.

Use XBMC client to access Plex Media Server

PleXBMC
Convert XBMC into a dedicated Plex client for Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi, OSX and more....

Please use the new Thread for all discussions, this one is no longer maintained:

https://forums.plex.tv/topic/106593-plexbmc-xbmc-add-on-to-connect-to-plex-media-server/

What is it?
PleXBMC is a number of addons that enable Plex Media Server (PMS) functionality from within XBMC. It consists of:

  • PleXBMC - Main interface addon
  • PleXBMC Helper - Plex remote control interface addon
  • PleXBMC Skins - Modified skins which direct integrate Plex access for a seemless experiance.

Where to get it!
Updated: 20th March 2013

For XBMC 12/Frodo users, there is a Repository available which includes all software.

PleXBMC
A seperate addon exists for each version of XBMC available Be sure to use the version that matches your installed version.

PleXBMC Helper (XBMC 12/Frodo only)

PleXBMC modified skins
These are currently the only supported skins:

Features

PleXBMC Addon

PleXBMC supports all the standard functions that an official Plex client offers. Such as:

  • Browse, play and resume media in Plex Media Server sections.
  • Display all intermediate filter menus (selectable by user)
  • Search within library sections
  • Displays full metadata, thumbs, fanart, media flags for all items
  • Track and display the watched status for all items (start on one device and resume on another)
  • Automatic subtitle and audio stream support including external subtitle files (such as .srt)
  • Manually start a rescan of media sections
  • Delete media from Plex Media Server (where enabled by the media server)
  • Browse and play Plex Channels (support is currently limited)
  • myPlex support to allow authenticated access to remote Media Servers.
  • Support for Plex Online - install, modify or delete Plex Plugins
  • Wake On LAN - prod those sleeping servers
  • Transcode media with quality selector (good for remote playback)
  • Transcoding support for AC3 and DTS audio
  • Bonjour/zeroconf support

PleXBMC Helper

If you also install the PleXBMC Helper, you will get the following:

  • Integration with plex iOS (and presumably android and Windows) apps
  • Displays as a selectable screen/client within app
  • Utilise the remote to send commands (excluding keyboard support, as this is removed from current XBMC implementations)
  • Initiate playback of media on the remote app

PleXBMC Skins

In addition, if a PleXBMC specific skin is used:

  • Display all section on the main home screen (movies, tv, channels)
  • Display all partial watched flags
  • Display of recently added items (Quartz skins only)

Screencast
Still not sure what PleXBMC does - here is a video to explain what it does and a video showing the other available skins

[media]image

You can also see two extra videos:

  • PleXBMC: Remote playback via Plex/Web
  • PleXBMC: On the Raspberry Pi

    Basic installation and configuation
  • Ensure your PLex Media Server is up and running
  • Install addon directly via zip file
  • Configure the addon with either Bonjour discovery or with the IP address of the Plex Media Server
  • Use the addon via Video -> Addons -> PleXBMC

Addon Configuration Options
Media Sources
Location for Plex Msdia Servers

  • Use Bonjour local Discovery - Automatically locate other Plex Media Server instances in local network (Default: Off)
Off - use static IPs for media servers
On - use Bonjour to find ny local media servers
  • Plex Media Server hostname - IP address or DNS name of PMS instance (Default: 127.0.0.1)
  • Port Number - port to talk to Plex Media Server on (default: 32400)
  • MyPlex User - username to log into myplex service
  • MyPlex password - and the corresponding password

Playback

  • Stream from PMS - Decide how to play PMS media on XBMC (Default: auto)
Auto - Let PleXBMC decide (First look for local file ; else http from Plex Media Server)
http - Use Plex Media Server Webserver to play file
smb - Use samba/cifs to play file. Share must be assessible to client
afp - Use Apple AFP to play file.
  • Audio and subtitile selector - determine what audio stream and subtitles to display
XBMC Control - Let XBMC decide and remember your manual audio and subtitle selection
Never - Just turn all subtitles off.
Plex Control - Let PlexBMC decide based on PMS configuration. Audio stream and subtitles will be set to PMS selected stream. If there are no embedded subs, external file will be used.
External - Always use the external subtitle file if it exists.

Skins
I've also modified some well known XBMC skins to fully integrate PleXBMC into XBMC - so you get easier access to your media and a better Plex-like experience. I would recommend using a PleXBMC modified skin for best results.
NOTE: you must use a skin and PleXBMC addon appropriate for teh version of XBMC you are running

XBMC 10.1 / Dharma

Is there a way to have KODI ignore articles (such as "The" ) when sorting a sync'd Plex database?

When I sync'd my database over to KODI, for some reason, it doesn't ignore articles, so now I have to scroll down to "T" to watch "The Flash" instead of "F." TV Shows added locally to KODI properly ignore the articles and sort the way I want them to, but not the ones sync'd from Plex. Is this fixable?

PlexKodiConnect, what's your favorite skin?

A question/poll to Plex/Kodi/PKC users: what skin do you use on your setup? I guess people already using Kodi have some preference that's not related to Plex and are integrating PKC in their skin, but I'm a "Plex guy" so I like my Kodi skin to be "as Plex as possible" :D

Right now the one I like most (on Jarvis) is Titan with a vertical menu and a color scheme that recalls the grey/orange theme of Plex :) What are you people using? What you like most?

Simple X - A Native 3rd Party Plex Client for the new Apple TV (4th Gen)

Hi everyone, so I've been working on my own Plex client for tvOS on the new Apple TV. It's built using all the native interface stuff, so it looks and feels great (I love the new remote!)

Assuming I don't have any issues with app approval it should be available day one of the tvOS App Store.

I wasn't sure how long Plex would take with their client, and I really wanted to start using the new Apple TV for Plex - so I made my own client! It currently only supports video sections (no Photos or Music just yet)

If there are any Plex users out there with an Apple TV dev kit, I'd be interested in having a few people beta test with TestFlight. If you're interested then drop me a message here or on Twitter.

Feel free to post any questions etc in this thread.

Here's the demo video we made to show you what Simple X is like:

Hi

Today I have updated the current version of XPLAY from LG store,

Before today I can using ext-subs in "SRT UTF-8" which is Chinese sub,
but now it shows nothing.

and there is another issue, I can using the sub name "movie.srt", it shows in Xplay sub list,
when I using sub name "movie.chi.srt", it doesn't show in sub list.

Wish to hear you soon,
Thanks for your help!!

Have a good day.
